The size of your camera sensor affects focal length, aperture, and ISO. The three most popular sensor sizes from smallest to largest are: Micro Four Thirds (MFT), APS-C, and Full Frame (35mm). You likely have one of these sensor sizes. Check your manual to see which sensor size your camera has.

They can vary in range, from 11 Sep 2011 You all know that the size of a camera's sensor changes the effective focal length of a lens, right? But what about its effect on depth-of-field?

Camera sensor sizes are standardized. This makes it easy to compare the size of the sensor in one camera to the size of the sensor in another. There is some variation, Canon’s APS-C is smaller, for example. But the variations are slight enough not to make a noticeable difference in the final image.

Sensor sizes of standard cameras. Classic machine vision cameras have varyingly large sensors, depending on the camera and resolution used. The majority of cameras with smaller sensors are used with so-called C-mount or possibly CS-mount optics.
Sensors are usually measured in millimeters (and sometimes inches). For example, full-frame sensors are as close to standard 35mm film as possible (35.00 x 24.00mm). Sensor sizes or formats of a camera are usually designated with an imperial fraction value – i.e. 1/2”, 2/3”.
It is called this because when using a 35 mm lens, such a sensor effectively crops out this much of the image at its exterior (due to its limited size). Sensor size is the physical size (area, not number of pixels) of a camera’s image sensor, usually measured in mm width x height. A Full Frame digital sensor like the ones found in a Canon 5D, Sony a7S I II or the Sony Venice , as well as traditional 35mm still photography film, all have areas that measure roughly 36x24mm.
